The Italo half of Change shining through here, minus Luther Vandross’ vocals. This album has to many hits to choose from so I went for the lesser known ‘The End.’ The cover is exceptional.
Teddy Pendergrass requires little or no introduction. Rather than lifting everyone else’s text, those that don’t know and want to know check his life story here. It is well worth glancing over and it is not without tradegy.
Rather than focus on his story I thought it would be appropriate just to share three personal favourite tracks from the man himself.
The first two ‘Only You’ & ‘Take Me In Your Arms Tonight’ are sure fire Disco heaters. ‘Joy’ comes few years later on a New Jack Swing tip..
Teddy Pendergrass – ‘Only You’ (1978)
Teddy Pendergrass & Stephanie Mills – ‘Take Me In Your Arms Tonight’ (1980)
Everyone’s favourite Ray Parker Jr (of Ghost Busters fame) with Raydio. Check the home made video some guy made with this track. No rhythm, amazing photograph album. The last photograph is the best if you can last that long.
