Friday night was a ripper. Thanks to all that came down danced and talked shite to each other. Follow the links and check the quality gear that Rohan has out there already. He also mixed with us on our radio show prior to the party, this will be available shortly. More events in the pipeline.

“Having recently made the jump from Melbourne to London, Rohan Bell Towers hasn’t wasted anytime making an impression. After releasing two records on Munich imprint Public Possession, delivering an impeccable Juno Plus Podcast and just partaking in the mandatory Boiler Room mix we are in no doubt that Bell Towers is more than qualified to bring the heat.”

and our daft promo…

TEESH Mix 003 – Semi Deluxe

tomslogo

It’s been along time coming, but heres a mix I compiled for tonight’s TEESH at Sneaky Pete’s. An all vinyl mix (except one record) from all over the board, both old and new, both silly and serious. Track list to follow shortly. Includes the likes of Space Dimension Controller, Iron Curtis, Dense & Pika, Baris K, Ghost Culture, Genius of Time, Hall & Oates, Golf Channel, Parkway etc etc. As usual, this is pretty ragged, the levels are all over the place. Get it pumped.

Justin Vandervolgen – ‘I Love You’ (Edit)

tumblr_mvy1d7OoLf1rpr19to1_500

Tonight sees two  sweatboxes host two intimate happenings. Seperated by exactly 404.1 miles Edinburgh’s Sneaky Pete’s sees the second installment of TEESH with  Witness hero Atticus Jacks. At the other end of the Island, hidden under one of East London’s Japanese restaurants we bring you the first ‘Crucial und Fresh!’

If you are attending ‘Crucial und Fresh!‘ we implore you to arrive early. Demand for the the event is very high and constraints on space mean capacity will be limited. The music starts at 9pm working its way up to 11pm when the volume goes up and the seating is removed. There will be no choice but to dance.

Looking forward to tonight. Bring the heat! (expect it to sound like this)

TEESH No 1

“TEESH ~club~ a new party being held in Edinburgh’s foremost home of brilliant fun and underground music, Sneaky Pete’s.”

Marinello puts it only as he could..

“Almost 2 hours of gorgeous squelching rhythms and inviting vocals targeting the ins and outs of the good old in & out.

I say it too often but get this smelt and fire yourself up for a night of jiving into an ecstasy fuelled conflagration.”

Saul W of the Boogie Cartel

tumblr_msork3NGV91qhutkwo1_500

Haven’t been able to post for a while due to the rigmarole of moving house and the incompentence of internet service providers.

On a more positve note I have had the pleasure of spending a couple of Saturday afternoons recently getting melted with the Aslan Crew & Saul W of The Boogie Cartel.

Here’s a mix from the big man himself – ‘Sleazy Like Monday Morning.’ Look out for a couple of  favourites including The Cool Notes ‘Natural Energy’ and a Dub of Total Contrast’s ‘What You Gonna Do About It.’

Check their next party, Saturday (the 5th October) at the Nest…

and once you’re done with that Sunday’s looking like the Lock Tavern hosted by the Aslan Institute with Roasts, Boogie and live funk from The Sewage Jam Band. More spam to cometh.

Boogie Cartel – ‘Good News Boppers’

Here’s a nice song from the Boogie Cartel.  A nice stabby bass line and the high hat is well worth the wait. It has more than a hint of Ilija Rudman  to it. Catch the free download.

If you liked that...

Lost Box Of 7 Inch Singles

Haven’t posted for a while as a terrible thing happened. On Tuesday night I lost a box of 7 inch singles. Either they were taken or I left them somewhere. Probably the latter of the two. Somwhere between Sneaky Pete’s in the Cowgate and Bruntsfield Gardens. If anyone knows anything please get in touch. The box is maroon coloured and made of fake leather with a gold latch. I’ve posted a melancholy Syl Johnson track called ‘Wind Blow Her Back My Way.’

Soul Jam Hot with Dj Red 6

Tonight we are happy to have Dj Red 6 (from Give It Some) playing with us at Soul Jam Hot @ Sneaky Pete’s. Check the Give It Some site for its eclectic range of mixes and vinyl up for sale.

Billy Who?

Here’s a mix from a mister DJ Billy Woods usually of Der Supermax Love Machine. If anyone can help with a track list that’d be nice, especially the track at 29 minutes. He’s playing in Edinburgh on the 19 th of March at Wasabi Disco at Sneaky Pete’s. There will be a Bozak mixer in the house, if you dont know what this is then go here;  Mick Music Page. Speaking of Sneaky Petes it’s almost Tuesday; see you tomorrow? (Soul Jam Hot in case you wondered)

Wasabi Disco

Found this on Wasabi Disco.(Which is on this Saturday at Sneaky Pete’s) The mix is by David Barbarossa. If anyone can name the tune that drops itself casually in at 102.11 minutes I would be very grateful.

‘The darker side of disco from one of Edinburgh’s finest club nights’ [The List, July 2010]

‘The Devil Disco Club is about going back to basics, embracing your dark side and letting it all hang out. It’s about listening to some of the most exciting new dance music out there alongside the classics and it’s about checking out a buzzing new live act that will move your feet and engage your mind. It’s about doing all of this alongside some of your favourite people in one of your favourite venues: the Bongo Club.’

Check out the facebook, the trouble site and this excellent mix;

Devil Disco Club, Promo Mix (October ’10) by Hobbes on Mixcloud

The Bongo Club Website gives you further details. See you there. I have also decanted this track from the mix. The ‘Go Upstairs – Soul Mekanik (Maurice Fulton Remix)’  has enjoyed regular play on my ipod since the summer. It’s BRILL!
